At the heart of this recent custom home build is our Northern Face White Oak flooring, showcasing the unique character and artistry of our authentic wide plank hardwood floors. The Natural Face Texture: A Nod to Century-Old Craftsmanship

Our Natural Face texture is reminiscent of a century-aged floor. This texture preserves the organic nuisances of the tree's growth journey. Soft undulations are gently felt underfoot, as though they have been worn by the pitter-patter of feet over the years. The look is subtle yet rich, inviting a sense of history and authenticity.

By embracing the wood's nuances and character, the Natural Face texture adds visual depth and tactile interest that mass-produced flooring simply cannot replicate.

Northern White Oak Wide Plank Flooring: Timeless and Versatile

Crafted from carefully selected Northern White Oak, our wide plank flooring (available in generous 10 and 12-inch widths along with our authentic random width offering of 6"-9") offers a luxurious foundation for any interior design style.

As with all of our offerings, this floor was made to order. Custom color was crafted in house and applied by hand. A quality oil finish was also applied by hand and offers a natural finish that will patina over time.

Thoughtfully Designed Architectural Details

This home's design also integrates several custom architectural features that perfectly complement our Northern White Oak flooring:

Timber Staircases: Crafted from the same Northern White Oak material, the timber stairs introduce another layer of organic texture and warmth. Their sculptural presence plays beautifully against the refined home finishes.

Arched Plank Wood Doors: These custom-designed doors echo the tones and tactile feel of the Natural Face flooring, enhancing the home's sense of charm and old-world appeal. Each Hardwood Design Company door is made by hand and can accomodate custom size specifications.
Wood Ceilings with Tongue and Groove Cladding: The ceiling features exposed solid wood beams and seamless tongue and groove planks. This application hides nail holes for a clean, refined finish while maintaining the inviting aesthetic of hand-worked wood. All ceiling cladding is available in square edge or 1/16" dime gap. Additionally, tongue and groove wood cladding can also be used for interior wall or home exterior application.

We believe in creating authentic wide plank flooring that is enduring in its style. That's why we intentionally produce a limited quantity of flooring each month. Every board is thoughtfully sourced, locally crafted, and finished by hand.

Our process is rooted in tradition, attention to detail, and deep respect for materials, from carefully selecting raw materials to hand-applying custom color blends and quality finishes.
